A Doll's House

My name is Elouie Gaspar, most people calls me Louie. I am a sophomore in B.H.S. I took English II CP this year, and I think it is a great class. Not only the people in it, but as well as the teachers that handle it. Miss Santos and Miss Pettigrew both possess the qualities needed to be great teachers. The class that I am having now is the most fun but at times it could be the most annoying class ever. Going to school everyday and talking to the people in my class is a great pleasure. The things that we do in that class is basically what most English classes do, such as group discussions, reading short stories to the class, and etc. I like having the time to read novels in our class. I think that discussing it with the whole class makes it more interesting and less boring.

The next novel that we are reading is "A doll's house''. It was written by Henrik Ibsen. It was the first stage dramas of the 19th centuries . It was published on December 4, 1879, and first performed in Copenhagen on December 21, 1879.A doll's house was often called the first true feminist play. The play is also an important work of the naturalist movement. Ibsen perform his creative work on a single stage where he slowly opened a fester, allowing the pus to run with hypocrisy. The ending of the play shocked most audiences of Ibsen's time. Some producers reworked the ending before allowing the drama to be staged. In today's time , "A Doll’s House" represents a turning point in the history of drama.
