Act ! of the Doll's House

We just finish reading Act I of story “The Dolls House”, and so far I think that Nora is squandering around like a rich person not even thinking about the outcome of spending. Where her Husband does all the work and serves as a bread winner in the family. In the beginning of the story, it shows that Nora is a very ambitious, immature and crass lady. She reminds me of my cousin. Just like Nora, she spends her money for clothes and wasteful things that cannot benefit to anybody while her father strives for hard work enable to feed their family. I think that it’s very ridiculous of Nora to act this way. She uses her ravishing appearance to get what she wants, and just wasting everything to unimportant things. She’s a shallow person who is self-centered about everything and lives with lies.
I think Norah’s Husband, Helmer is a very refinement person. He works hard for his family to live. But as we read throughout the story, I realize that he is just a follower of Nora. He is a gullible person who believes about everything that comes out from Nora’s mouth. I don’t know why Helmer is so dull to realize that her Wife cheats on him. I hope as we read the story, Helmer would find out that he needs to break up with Nora and stand up for him self enable him to get a strong backbone.

A Doll's House

My name is Elouie Gaspar, most people calls me Louie. I am a sophomore in B.H.S. I took English II CP this year, and I think it is a great class. Not only the people in it, but as well as the teachers that handle it. Miss Santos and Miss Pettigrew both possess the qualities needed to be great teachers. The class that I am having now is the most fun but at times it could be the most annoying class ever. Going to school everyday and talking to the people in my class is a great pleasure. The things that we do in that class is basically what most English classes do, such as group discussions, reading short stories to the class, and etc. I like having the time to read novels in our class. I think that discussing it with the whole class makes it more interesting and less boring.

The next novel that we are reading is "A doll's house''. It was written by Henrik Ibsen. It was the first stage dramas of the 19th centuries . It was published on December 4, 1879, and first performed in Copenhagen on December 21, 1879.A doll's house was often called the first true feminist play. The play is also an important work of the naturalist movement. Ibsen perform his creative work on a single stage where he slowly opened a fester, allowing the pus to run with hypocrisy. The ending of the play shocked most audiences of Ibsen's time. Some producers reworked the ending before allowing the drama to be staged. In today's time , "A Doll’s House" represents a turning point in the history of drama.
